Louie Sanchez is a native New Mexican who grew up in the South Valley of Albuquerque, in a traditional Hispanic family. Louie worked his way through high school as a maintenance man, cleaning bathrooms and mowing grass at Putt-Putt Golf, and put himself through college washing dishes. Louie was proud to become the first of nearly 40 cousins to graduate from college, earning his degree from the University of New Mexico. His family instilled in him the value of hard work, integrity, compassion, and personal responsibility, and those principles still guide his steps today.
“A house divided against itself cannot stand.”
– Abraham Lincoln
New Mexico has always been poised for amazing opportunities. We have incredible natural beauty, warm and welcoming people, diverse culture, and abundant natural resources. It should be a great place to live, raise a family, and retire – but unfortunately, partisan stand-offs and the personal ambitions of our Governor have undermined the progress we could have made.
It’s time for a leader who can bridge the gap. Someone who will truly listen. Someone who understands that, as Governor, ALL citizens should be represented, not just those of the same political affiliation.
We, as New Mexicans, need to reject partisan division and embrace the traditional principles that can serve us well: a sense of community, helping one another, hard work, diligence, and values.
Together, we must acknowledge and tackle our crime and drug problems.
Together, we must ensure our children receive an excellent education.
Together, we must protect our jobs and create opportunities so our families can grow and prosper right here, in New Mexico.
And together, we must put the best interests of our citizens first, always.
In short, it’s time to put people before politics, and Louie Sanchez is the right person for the job.
